Alexei Navalny was released. Russian dissident and blogger was serving 15 days in prison for repeated violation of the Act on demonstrations.
Navalny was sentenced to prison for distributing leaflets in Moscow, encouraging the opposition to participate in the protest action. The court did not agree to a break in the execution of the penalty to be able to attend the funeral of the Russian opposition leader shot Boris Nemtsov. Some participants said the funeral that was in Nawalnym sees a man who in Russian politics will take place Nemtsov.
The newspaper “Kommersant” noted that the American magazine “Time” scored 38-year-old Alexei Navalny among the 30 most influential people on the internet – next to President Barack Obama and representatives of the world of show business.
Three months ago Navalny was sentenced to 3.5 years in a labor camp for allegedly embezzling suspension of money belonging to the French company. His brother Oleg in the same process was sentenced to 3.5 years imprisonment in a strict penal colony.
Navalny says that the conviction of his brother to force him to stop political activities.
